Donald Lee Vance, 64 of South Point, Ohio passed away February 22, 2015. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Hanging Rock Apostolic Church of God with Pastor Glenn Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Chesapeake, OH. Donald was born May 1, 1950 in Ironton, OH, a son of the late Riley and Lola Thompson Vance. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Virgil, Paul and William. Don was on the board of the Hanging Rock Apostolic Church of God for 35 years (9/7/1982-Present). He was a deacon on the board, Sunday School Superintendent for 15 years (7/3/1995 through 2010) and in the carpentry business for many years in this area. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Darlene Dalton Vance; a very special niece, Rachel Dalton; a sister, Carol Lillian Vance (Don) Gill of Cambridge, OH; a brother David (Charlotte) Vance of Leesburg, GA; three sisters-in-law, Arb of Globe, AZ, Sybil of South Point, OH an Paula Sue of Proctorville, OH;; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He will truly be missed. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH and one hour prior to the service at the church.
