James Dale Maynard

March 7, 1956 - December 30, 2018

James Dale Maynard, 62, of Ashland, KY passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 in his home.  He was born March 7, 1956 in Huntington, WV, son of the late Jarrett and Estelle Midkiff Maynard.  James retired as a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in Operation Desert Storm.  Survivors include his two children, Crystal (Jackie) Withrow of South Point, OH and Joshua (Rachel) Maynard of Pedro, OH; two sisters, Naomi Dixon of Nashville, TN and Nancy Holland of NC; one brother, Ronald Keith Maynard of Charleston, WV; four grandchildren, Bryce Stevens of NC, Abby Bloomfield of South Point, OH, Willow and Jarrett Maynard of Pedro, OH and longtime friend, Janie Shelton.  A celebration of life will be held 11 am – 1 pm Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Huntington 1st Church of the Nazarene Huntington, WV.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
