George K. Mitchell

George K. Mitchell, 74, of South Point, OH died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY.  He was born November 7, 1942 in Madison, WV, a son of the late Dennis Emerson Mitchell and Nadine Compton Mitchell.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jarrell.  He was an Army Reservist and a retired CSX employee with 33 years service.  George was a loving husband, father and friend.  His hobbies included golfing and model airplanes.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Survivors include his wife, Brenda Aeh Mitchell; 2 children, Derek (Adrian) Mitchell and Ashley (Pavan) Kolluri; 2 sisters, Nadine Marquardt and Cynthia (Ronnie) Kennedy; and a grandchild, Minka Kolluri.  Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Pastor Daniel Beaver officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm before the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
