Gertrude P. Hastings

January 25, 1917 - January 15, 2019

Gertrude P. Hastings, 101, of South Point, OH passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY.  She was born January 25, 1917 in Wayne County, WV, daughter of the late James W. and Mary Jane Perry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Hastings; two sisters, Effie Perry, Effie Loggins and five brothers, Denny Perry, Delbert Perry, Grady Perry, Harry Hilton Perry and Elmer Perry.  She was a graduate of South Point Delta High School.  Gertrude is survived by her children, Loretta Hastings (John Curtis) Boggs of Wheelersburg, OH and Elmer G. Hastings of South Point, OH; a step-son, Dan Hastings of FL; a sister, Carrie Mulkey of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren, Lori Mohebbian, John Curtis Boggs, Jr., James Allen Boggs, Kenneth Andrew Hastings and Gordon Hastings; ten great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Pastor Paul McNurlin officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH.  Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
