Robert L. Wade

August 23, 1930 - December 22, 2017

Robert L. Wade, 87, of South Point, OH went to be with the Lord Friday, December 22, 2017 at Heartland of Jackson, Jackson, OH.  He was born August 23, 1930 in Scottown, OH, a son of the late Harley Wade and Elizabeth Wall Wade.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Bennett Wade and a brother, Richard Wade.  Robert retired from Ashland Oil as a Maintenance Supervisor and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a 33rd Degree Mason with The Valley of Cincinnati, Ohio Valley Lodge #536, F & AM Crown City, OH, Past President of Lawrence County Scottish Rite and a member of the Perkins Ridge Baptist Church.  He is survived by his three children, Allen Wade of South Point, OH, Debra Thompson of South Point, OH and Mark (Karen) Wade of Kitts Hill, OH; a brother, Gerald (Joann) Wade of Bremen, OH; a sister-in-law, Doris Wade of Gallipolis, OH; two grandchildren, Lori Wade and Chyanne Thompson; 2 step-grandchildren, Zack Sloan and Tyler Kerns and three great grandchildren, Tyffani, Trenity and Danica Thompson.  Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Pastor Lenny Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Perkins Ridge Cemetery in Scottown, OH.  Friends may visit from 12 PM to 2 PM on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Heartland of Jackson for their kindness and care.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
