Philip Eugene Cox, 87, was called home by his Lord and Savior on December 28, 2017.   Formerly of Proctorville, Oak Hill & Chesapeake, OH, Philip was a resident of Four Winds Nursing Home in Jackson, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by wife, Iris Ferguson Cox; his parents, Earl & Mary Cox; and all seven of his siblings.  Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Cox Jameson (Mark) of Plain City, OH; son, Phil Cox (Chrystal) of Port St. Joe, FL; and two grandchildren, Eric Jameson of Plain City, OH and Casie Jameson of Chicago, IL.  Philip was born and raised in Lawrence County, Ohio; worked at Allied Chemical and later for the State of Ohio as a Boiler Operator.  He loved farming and, in addition to his work in industry, did so for much of his life.  In later years, Philip served as the Market Master for the Huntington City Market, selling produce alongside his brothers, Donald and Stewart.  In addition, Philip served in the Army during the Korean War, and was a lifelong member of the Masons.  Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, 802 Solida Road, South Point, OH.  Graveside services will follow at 1:00 PM at the Rome-Proctorville Cemetery, 31 Township Road 1194, Proctorville, OH.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
