Eric Randall “Randy” Melvin, 64 of Ironton, OH died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born April 1, 1953, a son of the late Eric Goodman Melvin and Mary Evelyn Mannon Melvin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Melvin. Randy was a member of the Symmes Valley Veterans Honor Guard, AMVETS Post 141, Wilgus, OH, a former Firefighter for the City of Ironton and Perry Township and a member of Johnstown Baptist Church. Randy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gail Russell Melvin. Randy and Elizabeth celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary on December 17, 2017. He is also survived by his three children, Erica Rose (Robbie Fetty) Melvin of South Point, OH, Eric Andrew Russell (Laura) Melvin of Ironton, OH and James Alexander Melvin of Ironton, OH; three brothers, Timothy (Diane) Melvin of Barboursville, WV, John David (Sandy) Melvin of Ironton, OH and Robert Melvin of Ironton, OH; two sisters, Nancy Aldridge of Ironton, OH and Debbie Melvin of Ironton, OH; four grandchildren, Allison, Josiah, Zion Stallard and Isaac Melvin; a special aunt, Ruby Mannon; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Carl Russell of Kitts Hill, OH; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Kathy and Bill Shope of Pedro, OH and Andrea and Donnie Holbrook of Kitts Hill. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point, OH with Rev. Roger Pierce and Rev. Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Melvin Cemetery in Ironton, OH. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.
