Raymond Earl Houchin

Raymond Earl Houchin, 81 of South Point, OH passed away January 7, 2018 at Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington, WV.  Raymond was born May 6, 1936 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late Francis Earl and Mary Pauline Wallace Houchin.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Crum.  He was a Veteran of the US Navy and worked at Ashland State Vocational School.  Raymond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elinore Gay Carter Houchin; a son, Timothy Ray (Jeannie Cook) Houchin of Spring, TX; a sister, Shelby Veal of Gainesville, GA; a brother, Bill (Carol) Houchin of South Point, OH; and two grandchildren, Samuel Houchin and Isabella Houchin; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be 1 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH with Pastor Aaron Childers officiating.  Friends may visit from 11 AM – 12:30 PM Friday before the graveside service at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
